Last Feb. 1 my block mates and I went to a Pilgrimage in Manaoag,Pangasinan. It was really an amazing experience since it was my first time to go to Pangasinan with my friends. Upon arriving at Manaoag, it was almost 11:00 am; we had a mass led by our father rector Father Jesus Miranda Jr.
We had lunch at the gym where I got the chance to take a picture with Coach Pido Jarencio. We went to the wishing statue of the Lady Manaoag herself. Winnie and I lit up candles in the water. Through I didn’t have my best friend Jass with me; still I had new friends when I got there. Sean and Winnie were my travel buddies. The 3 of us bought ourselves a bronze statue of the Lady of Manaoag and eventually was blessed by Father Jay. Ching and Danna were there to accompany me while others were sleeping inside the bus, and that one kuya who talked to me and told me I was cute. It’s kinda sad because I didn’t had the chance to know his name, I know his face is so familiar and I’ve been seeing him a lot at our campus.
The Pilgrimage proved to me that I was blessed with friends; people who I could be with in times of needs. It also made me realize that I’ll never be alone. Sometimes we need to be open to other people. We can’t always stay in our comfort zone all the time. From time to time we need to give others a chance. Besides, our world is ever changing we need to keep up with it.
